Cinematic Explorations
with Christopher Murray

This session invites participants to reflect on the intersections between research and creation, with a focus on methodologies that blend ethnography and fiction. Drawing on selected works and behind-the-scenes creative processes—including the facilitator’s own films—it considers how fiction filmmaking can serve as a practice for exploring real territories and engaging with layered realities.

Flyover Film Studios Workshop

with Sarah Sharp
and Robert Patrick Stern

Sarah Sharp, Producer

Robert Patrick Stern, Cinematographer

Sarah Sharp found her passion for the entertainment industry after discovering that filmmaking is the ultimate team sport. Sarah met the love of her life on set in 2012, and in 2017 married her best friend and business partner Robert Stern. They established The Line Film Company, which has produced successful films, including critically acclaimed works such as "The Stylist” and 2023 Saturn award nominee "Brooklyn '45" which made the Variety, USA today, and Rotten Tomatoes 2023 "Best Of" Lists, and most recently Netflix #1 The Twister. Sarah has been a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) since 2020 and has produced over 20 projects in her  career. She has been blessed to experience unique opportunities in her film career to escalate growth - opportunities that she intends to give others. She is very diligent about creating vision and ensuring others put themselves in the right place at the right time to create opportunities, and she intends for Flyover Film Studios to be a part of the opportunity creation.

Cinematographer, producer, and self-proclaimed cinephile,  Robert Patrick Stern  has dedicated his life to shooting professionally for well over a decade. Photographing everything from commercials to docu-series (HBO's THE SHOP, Peacock's Devil in Disguise) has not satisfied his growing hunger for the visual medium. Translating multiple narratives into feature films (BET's Holiday Heist and Friend Request) has launched  Robert  onto solid ground, but the chase for a lifelong career in the industry has just begun. With this in mind,  Robert  launched The Line Film Company with production designer Sarah Sharp. The two have produced many features, including Jill Gevargizian's The Stylist for Arrow Films, Luke Boyce's Revealer for Shudder, John Pata's Black Mold, and Ted Geoghegan's Brooklyn '45. Robert shot Tony Wash's feature film The Rake for Sony Pictures Classic and his short The Muck, which premiered at SXSW 2014
